AMAC Football Dinner 2010 12/12/2010
Those who were available attended our annual AMAC Football Dinner last Friday. Despite of heavy traffic we all met as last year in Kavaklidere Tennis Club. After a short speech of Chuck and a toast to celebrate no injury this year and the qualifying to the A group for the spring season of Turkish Airlines International League we were all enjoying the meal prepared by local chef. After a discussion over our football interests and other important matters we finalised the dinner with opening the internetional bar. It was raised that the main task for spring will be the trip to Cairo for the 1st AMAC match abroad which should take place during the last weekend in February. Of course followed by continuation in the league. And last but not least finding a new managment to keep the team runnig after Chuck, Wolfgang and Michal leave next year. Thank you again everyone for playing football with us and keeping the team alive, big thanks to the league team for the succes and representation of AMAC and of course big thanks to János for help with organisation of the dinner in the Kavaklidere Tennis Club. Yesterday AMAC Football Team has qualified to the champions group "A" for the spring season of Turkish Airlines International Football League. With only one lost match and 11 points we go from 3rd position of group "B". We will be seeing France, UK/Ireland, Russia, IIS-TA, Portugal and Germany or Nordics (Nordics have one more decisive match to play with Italy) Well played with a solid defence we did not alow Nordics any big chances but one. Scored the first goal and with controlling the ball most of the game nobody would assume we would be loosing at the end 1:2. Yes, they equalised with a lucky goal shot from a fair distance when Ilker could not properly see the ball. And after a nice combination going through our midfield and defence Nikolai took the lead for Nordics. Since then Nordics were still pressing our players. This made us to overcome their midfield quite easily several times but we could not get scored. Finally at the end the luck turned to us. Whistle, penalty, Mustafa takes the ball...GOAAAAL! Well done AMAC! Let´s celebrate at our Annual AMAC Football Dinner this Friday. AIL: France x AMAC - 3:4 03/12/2010
Friday 03 December 2010 - one of most important matches in the league fo AMAC. Except Meder and Brian who were not able to show up we gathered in full strenght. Mustafa, Wolfgang, Ilker in defence, János and Rupert in midfield and Sam in forward - this was the setup which managed to play an equal match with the leader of our group. At the end of first half Fatih changed Ilker and we scored the first goal - 0:1 (halftime). Second half started in similar style but French used their chances and took the lead - 2:1. When Ahmet, very eager to join the game, replaced Sam and went to defence, we were up again. With no major mistakes from both sides but some emotions showing up the importance of the game the players performed very well how to play football. János and Fatih scored 2 additional goals against 1 from France keeping us still ahead. Although being under pressure at the end we used our chance again and giving a hatrick János scored again for the final score 3:4 for AMAC. Having 10 points AMAC team is currently at the 3rd place in the table of group A and have 1 more match to play (Nordics). Anyway with this last win we have most probably qualified for the A group for the spring season of AIL 2010-11. AIL: AMAC x Germany, 4:4 25/11/2010
Yesterday evening the team played a league game after three weeks off in the league. We menaged to setup a team almost asi identical as in previous two matches with exception of Mustafa who did not show up due to his business. He was really the point which we missed in the defence. Although Fatih with his very good skills on the ball was the central defender he is better on the ball in forward. The game was typical to our style most time of the match. Not too many passes and if yes we were pressed by germans and that made us some complications and provoked our mistakes. Anyway and also the wet weather helped more our opponent to get the balls. First half we were a bit dominating the game which resulted in leading 2:0. After the break our defender were under much higher pressing and we lost our winning positions. We menaged to score two more goals in the second half against one from Germany and were keeping it so till the last minute. And as it is usual for us we let one of our rival players to be alone and to draw the match to 4:4. AIL: AMAC x Italy, 4:2 20/10/2010
Second game in the league brougt us first points. Although we missed Kaya who started his studies at a university in Izmir and will no longer be able to play for AMAC, we nominated another good player - Fatih. The begining was a bit nervous from both sides. As the pitch was a little wet and ball slippery it was not very easy to control it. It took us some time to get used to it. Anyway somehow we managed to score first goal. And that was the point when the game started to be more interested and we were up. In several minute italy scored too - 1:1. Luckily we also responded in several minutes - 2:1 and added one more on top to be safe - 3:1. Italians started with presure which ended up at 3:2. and several minutes before the end we topped up to the final 4:2. Although we won the team performance was not the best. We need more to communicate during the game, we need to keep the ball more on our shoes and definitely we need to play more compact as a team - not individually. After all good points and thank you for playing to everybody. get ready for next match. AIL: AMAC x UK/Ireland - 3:6 15/10/2010
Wednesday 13 October 2010 was our first game for the IIS Football league and we played against UK, the league winner from the previous two years. We expected that it will be a tough game and we did our best to gain at least one point. Unfortunately the UK team was a bit too strong for us, so finally we lost this game 6:3. Nevertheless we should be proud of our performance yesterday, we never gave up, we played (lost) in a collective way and we did not forget our main aim. Come together to have fun, play football and meet other friends. At that point we should congratulate our opponents, the UK team for their victory. It should be mentioned, that we beat the UK team in the second half 3:1, but unfortunately, a game consists of two halfs. By the way, our top scorer seems to be Rup (he scored all goals) and not Kaya :-) Farewells 30/09/2010
Recently, within a month, we were made to say GOOD BYE to 3 team players. ![]() First of all it was Alberto at the end of August. YES, the one with his typical Italian style of game, his own humor and a great friend of all of us. We wish him and his family once more all the best in his future life back in Italy and hope to stay in touch. ![]() Next it was Kamen from Bulgaria. Although he was not a member of AMAC he was a high vaulable defender in the team who also added a power of the team in the Ankara International League ![]() And last who we had to say good bye was the one of three founders Petar from Macedonia. Although having knee problems (all football players have) he used to come regularly since the beggining and added the great piece of spirit to the team. All the best to all. AMAC Football Team will miss you but we hope to stay in touch and may be some time we will meet to have fun around the ball. AIL 2010-2011 start soon 15/09/2010

Anthem of AMAC Football Team 19/07/2010
On the occassion of farewell of Hans a brand new anthem of our team was presented. See the video. Hans, Kujtim, Albi, Nokia and Noel have left 17/07/2010
Last two Saturdays we had farewells and last trainings for some of our friends. The first one it was Kujtim with Albi from Albania who we had to say good bye after three years being in Ankara and playing football with us. Not only on Saturdays but also at the Ankara International League. Next it was Hans. One of three founders of AMAC Football Team, the Captain, the Coach, brain of the team and the most frequent player in the team since the begining. As it was mentioned in the video we must highlight again the great idea of Hans, Petar and Mauro to play football on Saturdays. We are having a lot of fun and enjoying unforgatable moments not only by playing football but especially getting together friends from AMAC and the diplomatic comunity in Ankara. And this is the spirit of AMAC Football Team which keeps us all together. The week after it was Nokia and Noel to say good bye to the team. Unfortunately there were no video camera to shoot a video. But we all know them well and will remember their words of appreciation having possibility to play for the team and enjoying the time in Ankara together. Hans, Kujtim, Albi, Nokia and Noel we wish you all the best in your lives, good luck and of course good health. And don´t forget - DISZIPLIN!!! (Pictures in gallery are coming soon) |
