AIL: AMAC X Nordics - 2:2 08/12/2010
Yesterday AMAC Football Team has qualified to the champions group "A" for the spring season of Turkish Airlines International Football League. With only one lost match and 11 points we go from 3rd position of group "B". We will be seeing France, UK/Ireland, Russia, IIS-TA, Portugal and Germany or Nordics (Nordics have one more decisive match to play with Italy) Well played with a solid defence we did not alow Nordics any big chances but one. Scored the first goal and with controlling the ball most of the game nobody would assume we would be loosing at the end 1:2. Yes, they equalised with a lucky goal shot from a fair distance when Ilker could not properly see the ball. And after a nice combination going through our midfield and defence Nikolai took the lead for Nordics. Since then Nordics were still pressing our players. This made us to overcome their midfield quite easily several times but we could not get scored. Finally at the end the luck turned to us. Whistle, penalty, Mustafa takes the ball...GOAAAAL! Well done AMAC! Let´s celebrate at our Annual AMAC Football Dinner this Friday. Add Comment AIL: France x AMAC - 3:4 03/12/2010
Friday 03 December 2010 - one of most important matches in the league fo AMAC. Except Meder and Brian who were not able to show up we gathered in full strenght. Mustafa, Wolfgang, Ilker in defence, János and Rupert in midfield and Sam in forward - this was the setup which managed to play an equal match with the leader of our group. At the end of first half Fatih changed Ilker and we scored the first goal - 0:1 (halftime). Second half started in similar style but French used their chances and took the lead - 2:1. When Ahmet, very eager to join the game, replaced Sam and went to defence, we were up again. With no major mistakes from both sides but some emotions showing up the importance of the game the players performed very well how to play football. János and Fatih scored 2 additional goals against 1 from France keeping us still ahead. Although being under pressure at the end we used our chance again and giving a hatrick János scored again for the final score 3:4 for AMAC. Having 10 points AMAC team is currently at the 3rd place in the table of group A and have 1 more match to play (Nordics). Anyway with this last win we have most probably qualified for the A group for the spring season of AIL 2010-11. AIL: AMAC x Germany, 4:4 25/11/2010
Yesterday evening the team played a league game after three weeks off in the league. We menaged to setup a team almost asi identical as in previous two matches with exception of Mustafa who did not show up due to his business. He was really the point which we missed in the defence. Although Fatih with his very good skills on the ball was the central defender he is better on the ball in forward. The game was typical to our style most time of the match. Not too many passes and if yes we were pressed by germans and that made us some complications and provoked our mistakes. Anyway and also the wet weather helped more our opponent to get the balls. First half we were a bit dominating the game which resulted in leading 2:0. After the break our defender were under much higher pressing and we lost our winning positions. We menaged to score two more goals in the second half against one from Germany and were keeping it so till the last minute. And as it is usual for us we let one of our rival players to be alone and to draw the match to 4:4. AIL: AMAC x UK/Ireland - 3:6 15/10/2010
Wednesday 13 October 2010 was our first game for the IIS Football league and we played against UK, the league winner from the previous two years. We expected that it will be a tough game and we did our best to gain at least one point. Unfortunately the UK team was a bit too strong for us, so finally we lost this game 6:3. Nevertheless we should be proud of our performance yesterday, we never gave up, we played (lost) in a collective way and we did not forget our main aim. Come together to have fun, play football and meet other friends. At that point we should congratulate our opponents, the UK team for their victory. It should be mentioned, that we beat the UK team in the second half 3:1, but unfortunately, a game consists of two halfs. By the way, our top scorer seems to be Rup (he scored all goals) and not Kaya :-) AIL: Bad start = good end. 19/03/2010
Hope the meaning of words in the title works. Or at least for our team in the second half of the league this year. Or have we taken it at the first half? The first match against Russia which we managed not play as we used to in previous years we lost 1:5. Thank to the fast and young Russian attackers. It was almost whole match when we were unable to play our football. Then a useless red card for Kadir (after a non whistled foul) which made us even more nervous and unstable. Then the last match AMAC x UK/Ireland. AMAC played less Kadir but Kaya instead. UK/Ireland in a full strength. Very fast UK goal and our very cautious begining. Then we started to show our strength. With of piece of bad luck while hitting a post twice UK scored to our goal again. We showed we can play better with UK then with Russia, we controled the ball, we made our chances but did not scored. On the other side 2 more standard situations and the result was set. AMAC x UK - 0:4. AIL: Spring season to start shortly 17/02/2010
Dear friends, please be aware that the spring season of the Ankara International League will start on Wednesday 10 March 2010. We will know more after the team captains meeting which takes place this Sunday (21.2.) Our first match is Russia x AMAC on Wednesday 10 March 2010 @2100 hrs. Dear All, Today I was able to organize a new training facility for AST at Hali Saha. We start already this Saturday, 26th December at 1000 hrs. I booked the court for two hours and the costs are 50 TL per hour. The court is covered, heated and playable throughout winter time. The measurement of the court is like Sporland and, we find there warm water showers and heated dressing rooms. Soft drink can be purchased at the place. Water costs 0,5 TL and Cola/Fanta/Sprite 1,5 TL per can. I kindly ask you to bring small money for your soft drinks. Beer and other “winter resistant drinks” will be provided by AST as usual. Due to the new place I kindly ask you all, who to not find the way on their own, to be at 0930 in front of my apartment building in Koza Sokak 114. This is the building where Jerko and I live. From there we will go in a convoy not later than 0945 hrs. Check out enclosed map. Please note your participation for this Saturday on our website and spread the news to all our players within the next days. I hope to see as many as possible - It is worth!!
