Last Friday (18th December) we held our third AMAC Soccer Team (AST) X-mass Dinner. We counted 34 members and it turned out to be a wonderful evening. Once again I thank you for coming and making this a very special event.

Due to many holidays within the next two weeks, our next AST training is scheduled for Saturday 09th January 2010. At the moment I’m searching for an alternative to SPORLAND. So stand by for more information on that. Until further notice, please note your participation for 09th January on our website.

As captain of this wonderful team I would like to wish you and your families….

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

OH MY GOD what a game!! All who played this match can call themselves from now on ” hardcore of AMAC”.
At the time the match should have started, we were only 5 players. Thanks to Kujtim and Albi, who originally came to support us, we were able to start with some minutes delay. Christopher in the goal, Tomas, Kujtim and Hans in defence, Marcus and Kadir in midfield and Albi as forward was the set up. Russia opened strong and tried to put pressure on Kujtim who played with his street shoes. However, a perfect counter attack via Kadir found his way to ALBI who scored his first goal for AMAC with his tennis shoes. Russia increased the pressure and goalkeeper Christopher was fouled badly mid first half but, Kadir scored his first goal this evening and brought us a 2:0 lead. Somehow our defence, perfect organised by Tomas, managed to stop most of the Russian attacks. Fist half ended with a 2:1 lead for AMAC.
Second half Marcus developed to our best player. Working hard and being alone in midfield, he scored a perfect header for a 3:1 lead, followed by Kadirs 4:2. With some delay Yuri showed up and substituted ALBI who was released from the game with a big applause. Russia still could not believe what was happening and Marcus scored his second goal and brought us a comfortable 5:2 lead. From that moment on AMAC controlled the game and played counter by counter. Two more goals from Kadir, who scored all in all 4 times, finalised the result with 7:2.

AMAC finished the group phase unbeaten and the players finished some Ukrainian vodka….what a night!

AMAC met France Wednesday night and had especially 1st half same problems like last two games. Being dominant and most of the time in ball possession, we were not able to score. The first counter attack mixed with some misunderstanding and influenced by a plastic hat on the filed, brought a very lucky 1:0 lead for the French team. After that they managed to stand with 6 of their field players in front of their own goal and defended their lead into second half. A distance shot from Tomas brought AMAC the well deserved equalizer. With Kaya we brought our “secret weapon” and he caused France a lot of problems. After one of his breaks through on the right side he scored our 2nd goal. AMAC managed so far 4 victories (Balkan, Nordics, USA 2, France) and drawed one match (Quatar). Next Wednesday we will have to play our final game in the group phase against Russia. There is a very good chance not only to win the group but also to stay unbeaten.

AMAC and USA 2 played a night game (2100 hrs) after most of our players attended 3 national day invitations before and, both teams performed very well. AMAC was most of the time dominant and put a lot of pressure on USA team. Unfortunately many AMAC attacks were denied from an excellent playing US goalkeeper, who deserves the “man of the game” title.
At the end, with goals from Kadir (2) and Marcus (2), AMAC managed a 4:0 victory. The next game on Saturday (05th December) vs Qatar will be decisive. The game will be played after the regular training in Sporland at 1030 hrs and I expect some more AMAC fans to support our team.

AMAC played similar strong and well organised like vs USA 2. QATAR was most of the time busy to defend and managed luckily - with outstanding goalkeeping - a 1:0 AMAC lead at half time, which resulted from a Tomas distance shot. In the second half AMAC team rolled one attack after the other against a well placed and excellent playing Qatari goalkeeper. Minimum five AMAC shots ended on the post, the rest was somehow saved by good goalkeeping. It came like a promise: Those goals you do not shoot - you’ll get - that was the case three minutes before the end. After a corner kick, QATAR equalized with a very lucky head ball.
However, at the end AMAC remains still unbeaten and has great chances to stay in front.

We will have to play forthcoming Wednesday (9th December) FRANCE and a week later the final game in the group phase vs RUSSIA. AMAC fans are welcome to support our team as they did last Saturday. Thank’s comrades that was really good for the team….
