Anthem of AMAC Football Team 19/07/2010
On the occassion of farewell of Hans a brand new anthem of our team was presented. See the video. Hans, Kujtim, Albi, Nokia and Noel have left 17/07/2010
Last two Saturdays we had farewells and last trainings for some of our friends. The first one it was Kujtim with Albi from Albania who we had to say good bye after three years being in Ankara and playing football with us. Not only on Saturdays but also at the Ankara International League. Next it was Hans. One of three founders of AMAC Football Team, the Captain, the Coach, brain of the team and the most frequent player in the team since the begining. As it was mentioned in the video we must highlight again the great idea of Hans, Petar and Mauro to play football on Saturdays. We are having a lot of fun and enjoying unforgatable moments not only by playing football but especially getting together friends from AMAC and the diplomatic comunity in Ankara. And this is the spirit of AMAC Football Team which keeps us all together. The week after it was Nokia and Noel to say good bye to the team. Unfortunately there were no video camera to shoot a video. But we all know them well and will remember their words of appreciation having possibility to play for the team and enjoying the time in Ankara together. Hans, Kujtim, Albi, Nokia and Noel we wish you all the best in your lives, good luck and of course good health. And don´t forget - DISZIPLIN!!! (Pictures in gallery are coming soon) Dear All, On 10th July 2010 I will attend my last AMAC Football Training. As a founding member I had the honour to create this team in October 2006 together with Mauro Pompei and Petar Nikolowski. Since then it was an outstanding experience to be the Captain of so many players who came, joined in and left again. We recruit from Ambassadors, Attachés and other diplomatic ranks and also integrate lots of our Turkish friends. With great respect, lots of emotions and patience we went so many Saturdays to the field and played under sun, rain and sometimes also in snow... We joined Ankara International League (AIL) and reached so far in two championships a 2nd and a 5th place. We present and represent the idea of an international team, as our name AMAC says. And we made AMAC Community alive in many side effects. AIL: Bad start = good end. 19/03/2010
Hope the meaning of words in the title works. Or at least for our team in the second half of the league this year. Or have we taken it at the first half? The first match against Russia which we managed not play as we used to in previous years we lost 1:5. Thank to the fast and young Russian attackers. It was almost whole match when we were unable to play our football. Then a useless red card for Kadir (after a non whistled foul) which made us even more nervous and unstable. Then the last match AMAC x UK/Ireland. AMAC played less Kadir but Kaya instead. UK/Ireland in a full strength. Very fast UK goal and our very cautious begining. Then we started to show our strength. With of piece of bad luck while hitting a post twice UK scored to our goal again. We showed we can play better with UK then with Russia, we controled the ball, we made our chances but did not scored. On the other side 2 more standard situations and the result was set. AMAC x UK - 0:4. AIL: Spring season to start shortly 17/02/2010
Dear friends, please be aware that the spring season of the Ankara International League will start on Wednesday 10 March 2010. We will know more after the team captains meeting which takes place this Sunday (21.2.) Our first match is Russia x AMAC on Wednesday 10 March 2010 @2100 hrs. Dear All, Today I was able to organize a new training facility for AST at Hali Saha. We start already this Saturday, 26th December at 1000 hrs. I booked the court for two hours and the costs are 50 TL per hour. The court is covered, heated and playable throughout winter time. The measurement of the court is like Sporland and, we find there warm water showers and heated dressing rooms. Soft drink can be purchased at the place. Water costs 0,5 TL and Cola/Fanta/Sprite 1,5 TL per can. I kindly ask you to bring small money for your soft drinks. Beer and other “winter resistant drinks” will be provided by AST as usual. Due to the new place I kindly ask you all, who to not find the way on their own, to be at 0930 in front of my apartment building in Koza Sokak 114. This is the building where Jerko and I live. From there we will go in a convoy not later than 0945 hrs. Check out enclosed map. Please note your participation for this Saturday on our website and spread the news to all our players within the next days. I hope to see as many as possible - It is worth!! Hans Hornung, Captain UPDATE: See the map here Last Friday (18th December) we held our third AMAC Soccer Team (AST) X-mass Dinner. We counted 34 members and it turned out to be a wonderful evening. Once again I thank you for coming and making this a very special event. Due to many holidays within the next two weeks, our next AST training is scheduled for Saturday 09th January 2010. At the moment I’m searching for an alternative to SPORLAND. So stand by for more information on that. Until further notice, please note your participation for 09th January on our website. As captain of this wonderful team I would like to wish you and your families…. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Hans Hornung, Captain AIL: AMAC vs RUSSIA 17/12/2009
OH MY GOD what a game!! All who played this match can call themselves from now on ” hardcore of AMAC”. At the time the match should have started, we were only 5 players. Thanks to Kujtim and Albi, who originally came to support us, we were able to start with some minutes delay. Christopher in the goal, Tomas, Kujtim and Hans in defence, Marcus and Kadir in midfield and Albi as forward was the set up. Russia opened strong and tried to put pressure on Kujtim who played with his street shoes. However, a perfect counter attack via Kadir found his way to ALBI who scored his first goal for AMAC with his tennis shoes. Russia increased the pressure and goalkeeper Christopher was fouled badly mid first half but, Kadir scored his first goal this evening and brought us a 2:0 lead. Somehow our defence, perfect organised by Tomas, managed to stop most of the Russian attacks. Fist half ended with a 2:1 lead for AMAC. Second half Marcus developed to our best player. Working hard and being alone in midfield, he scored a perfect header for a 3:1 lead, followed by Kadirs 4:2. With some delay Yuri showed up and substituted ALBI who was released from the game with a big applause. Russia still could not believe what was happening and Marcus scored his second goal and brought us a comfortable 5:2 lead. From that moment on AMAC controlled the game and played counter by counter. Two more goals from Kadir, who scored all in all 4 times, finalised the result with 7:2. AMAC finished the group phase unbeaten and the players finished some Ukrainian vodka….what a night! Hans Hornung, Captain AIL: FRANCE vs AMAC 1:2 10/12/2009
AMAC met France Wednesday night and had especially 1st half same problems like last two games. Being dominant and most of the time in ball possession, we were not able to score. The first counter attack mixed with some misunderstanding and influenced by a plastic hat on the filed, brought a very lucky 1:0 lead for the French team. After that they managed to stand with 6 of their field players in front of their own goal and defended their lead into second half. A distance shot from Tomas brought AMAC the well deserved equalizer. With Kaya we brought our “secret weapon” and he caused France a lot of problems. After one of his breaks through on the right side he scored our 2nd goal. AMAC managed so far 4 victories (Balkan, Nordics, USA 2, France) and drawed one match (Quatar). Next Wednesday we will have to play our final game in the group phase against Russia. There is a very good chance not only to win the group but also to stay unbeaten. --Hans Hornung, Captain Additional Information: Do not forget our annual X-mass Diner on Friday 18th December at Kavaklidere Social Club. Therefore check out our website (www.amacfootball.com) AIL: AMAC vs. USA2, 4:0 07/12/2009
AMAC and USA 2 played a night game (2100 hrs) after most of our players attended 3 national day invitations before and, both teams performed very well. AMAC was most of the time dominant and put a lot of pressure on USA team. Unfortunately many AMAC attacks were denied from an excellent playing US goalkeeper, who deserves the “man of the game” title. At the end, with goals from Kadir (2) and Marcus (2), AMAC managed a 4:0 victory. The next game on Saturday (05th December) vs Qatar will be decisive. The game will be played after the regular training in Sporland at 1030 hrs and I expect some more AMAC fans to support our team. ---Hans Hornung, Captain |
